Internet in Malta isn't easy to come by

There is internet everywhere, but I need to use my chrome book to post efficiently. This is why I haven't been updating the Blog. I am approximately behind 2 weeks, and today my chrome book is finally working, at a free WIFI spot.

So tomorrow, I will try and catch up 1 week in 1 hour.

On our way to Malta

Tiring day, with train, bus to Orly airport, included in that was a
wrong terminal. Waited 4 hours for our flight on air Malta

Not a bad plane flight, Maltese safety announcement. After 2 hours we
landed in Malta

Mum and Dad were waiting for us at the airport. After greeting them
and at least 6 aunty and uncles.

Now I have the constant warnings about the driving in Malta.

The best way to treat other Maltese drivers is to not give them an
inch, and be ultra aggressive, as they will come out in front of you
is you are not sure

We found our apartment Marsascala, and my father got lost finding his way back to the apartment. He had no address and no phone to contact us. He ended up going back to my uncle Leli's and as was driven back.

Our last day in Paris

On our last day in Paris we took it really easy as the weather wasn't that great. We decided to walk to Notre Dame, on our way we found the lock bridge.

This is where lovers profess their love, and lock. Dec was finding open ones and throwing them into the water. We counted at least 5 failed romance.

Headed back to the apartment and spent the evening watching Monty Pyhon Holy Grail, ready for tomorrow's journey to Malta

Eiffel Tower

This was the pinnacle event of the trip, heading to the Effiel Tower.

With our tickets purchased from Australia to climb to the 2nd floor of the tower. We couldn't get tickets to the top. Shhhhh don't tell the kids, but we have tickets to climb to the top on our way home.

We stepped off the train turned a corner and saw this.

What a site, we decided to go and have dinner, we had plate a mixed deli meats, YUM. Sharyn had Duck, and I had the Stake Tartar. YUM YUM. The kids scratched something off their bucket list. Creme Caramel from Paris. Here are the pictures. They speak for themselves.

Excellent Coffee, and a Creme Brulle, later we headed to the tower for our excellent ride at 10:00pm.

Once we were up the view was spectacular, this climb must be done at sunset. With Paris lit up, we were able to pick up key landmarks.

Finally our time was over, and we decided to descend, we also saw a storm brewing, off to the west. Now our journey took us back to the train, with one last look at the Tower in all it's glory.

We finally got back to the apartment around 11:30pm. Another exhausting day, but well worth it.

Another Excellent day in Paris

This day was also a special day, as the plan was visit the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.

After another excellent breakfast of croissant, fresh bread and coffee. we headed out onto the train to the Louvre

It was very easy to get in from the train station, and once we were in the sites we saw were very impressive.

There were people everywhere around the Mona Lisa, It was good to see, it but didn't realize it was so small compared to the other paintings.

After we were done with the Louvre, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and decided to walk to the Concorde. Love the idea of running our own race.

During the walk we looked at art, and it was quite funny watching the illegal street sells, scurry away when the police were in the area.

Also during the walk, Abbey, was able to jump on a trampoline.

Now it is off to the Eiffel Tower, This will need a separate post.

Euro Disney

My expectation of Euro Disney was low as I saw reports of it being rundown and and not properly functioning as a Theme Park.

This was completely untrue, as there were people everywhere, and the park was in excellent working order.

Well, we had a good start with trying to go on a ride, that Abbey was too short for. Then we went of a ride called Space Mountain 2, this had loops and corkscrews in the dark. Just to say the kids didn't like the ride.

We also look at Disney shops, and other rides, and 2 parks in one day.

We were done by 9:00pm and didn't bother waiting for fireworks, as we will see many in Malta.

Versailles -- Wonderful

Hopped on 2 trains to get to Versailles, and there were people everywhere. We had the choice of waiting in line to get into the Palace for 45 minutes, or get a VIP pass to get us straight in. We choose the VIP, as this gave us the chance to look at the gardens first. You can really get lost in there. Images on the internet doesn't give this justice. this place is huge

Once our allocated time came up, we headed into the Palace. Another wondrous place, every wall every ceiling has art on it. After the brief warning of pick pockets, we wondered around the palace, with our information pens we heard about Louie 14th and his exploits.

We were out of Versailles in 2 and half hours. Sharyn and the kids bought all their souvenirs from one shop. We headed to the train station again, to head further West to Chartres, we heard there was a large cathedral there.

Did say a large cathedral, well this Roman Catholic Structure was enormous, the amount of stain glass windows was amazing, and to know that the locals removed all of them and hid them from the invading Germans. This was remarkable.  Once the war was over they remove the windows from the cave, and put them back.

It was also remarkable to stand in a place where the allies marched forward to Paris to Liberate it from the Germans. In one of the photos, we are standing at a marker. These markers stretch from the coast all the way to Paris.

We then spent the evening with Friends from Work, Claire and family were very inviting and we had a great laugh and good conversations.

Oh and we nearly missed the last train from Chartres, with the help of Claires driving, and running to catch a train. How cliche does this sound, we are running to catch the train as we see it pull up, yelling to the conductor, "Pari Pari" to only make the train by one minute.

Made it back to the apartment at 10:30, exhaustion hit us hard.

Tomorrow is Euro Disney.
